While the rest of the state (and most of the country) is having bad weather Palos Verdes is having great weather.

It’s a great time to come and get away from the heat or cold and enjoy a horseback trail ride or just visit the beach. Palos Verdes is a name often used to refer to a group of coastal cities in the Palos Verdes Hills on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, within southwestern Los Angeles County in Southern California. The area is frequented by runners, hikers, horseback riders, bird watchers, surfers, scuba divers, and bicyclists. The area is home to several golf courses and country clubs.

This calendar was created just for you by Patty Sullivan of Coldwell Banker real estate. Located in the Malaga Cove Plaza in Palos Verdes Estates.

Summer Concert Tips:

  • Arrive early to secure a good blanket spot. Some venues allow you to place your blanket hours before the concert starts, so find out the best time to reserve your spot.
  • If you bring a chair, make sure it is one that sits on the ground and only provides a backrest and some padding. Many venues prohibit tall chairs so that all patrons can have an unobstructed view of the performers.
  • Pack a yummy picnic that you can share with friends. There are many places to order picnic dinners that are close to each venue.
  • Pack a flashlight so that when you leave the concert in the dark, you make sure you can find all your belongings that you brought with you.
  • Some venues do not have easy access to bathrooms, so plan ahead.

May 2013 Real Estate Trends

What’s trending in the Real Estate Market?  “Lemon Sorbet,” Benjamin Moore’s hottest selling paint color.  It is the perfect transitional shade between mid-tones and saturated colors seen in today’s home furnishings and the softer, lighter pastels which are emerging for 2013.  This beautiful shade of yellow harmonizes with most other colors whether it’s used on walls or accent pieces.  So give it a look!

Other trends of importance to home buyers are energy efficiency in home appliances, insulation, windows, etc. Laundry Rooms, walk-in kitchen pantries, and garage storage are also among the most desired features.  “Mc Mansions” are becoming passé’ as well as wet bars, wine refrigerators, and two story family rooms.

Modern remodeled kitchen

Energy efficient appliances and useful storage are at the top of the list for many current home buyers.

When considering a remodel of your home, focus on over-all condition and comfort while getting the most from your living spaces.  It’s also important to think about renovations that will help you realize the greatest return on value should you decide to sell your home in the near future.

Please note the Real Estate Designations I hold.  ABRE-Accredited Buyer Representative; SRES- Senior Real Estate Specialist; and PV Specialist are designations I have earned enhance my knowledge and skills allowing me to serve my clients with greater expertise. I will be adding CNE – Certified Negotiation Expert to the list next month.

This month I am sending information to my former and current clients helpful information to make your list of projects and prioritize those things that need attention first.  In addition there is some advice on budgeting which is always important. If you’d like to learn more about what’s hot now in real estate and get some great advice, please contact me.
